RPI Eligibility Information
To be eligible for a LETN eLearning subscription funded by the Rural Policing Institute, the student’s employing agency must meet one of the following criteria:

• Be geographically located outside of a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. To determine eligibility under this criterion, the FLETC suggests that you visit the U.S. Census Bureau’s State & Local Quickfacts website at http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd, and select the state and county in which your agency is located. Then, scroll down to the last row on the table to find out your agency’s status of Metro, Micro or None. Micro and None are eligible for funding for LETN subscriptions through the RPI.

• Be geographically located in a MSA and a county, borough, parish, or area under the jurisdiction of an Indian tribe with a population of not more than 50,000.

Registration and Confirmation:
To request access to the RPI online courses, first ascertain eligibility. If eligible, the student MUST complete the online registration form with the student’s supervisor providing the online acknowledgment of employment and of participation in  feedback. Once the registration form has been submitted and accepted, a confirmation email will be provided with the user name/ password to access the system. FLETC reserves the right to decline a subscription even after initial issuance if it determines the requesting agency is not eligible under the RPI guidelines.

Effects of Nondisclosure:
If you furnish only part of the information required, an attempt will be made to maintain and process your records. If the information withheld is found to be essential to effectively maintaining and processing your records, you will be so informed, and your training will terminate unless you supply the missing information.

RPI  Notice:
